About the Role
Are you an experienced Stock Controller looking for a permanent role with regular hours, an early Friday finish and the chance to make a real impact on warehouse accuracy and efficiency?
We’re recruiting for a Permanent Warehouse Stock Controller to join a leading company based in Appleton Thorn, Warrington. This is a great opportunity for someone with stock control, inventory or warehouse systems experience who enjoys working with detail, solving discrepancies and supporting smooth warehouse operations.
You will play a key role in maintaining system accuracy, supporting operational efficiency and ensuring confidence in stock data across the business using agreed stock control processes, the Warehouse Management System and Epicor.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain ownership of stock accuracy across the site.
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve stock variances, including picking discrepancies, WMS issues, and Epicor mismatches.
- Monitor material queues for goods exiting manufacturing and take appropriate action to ensure timely and accurate stock movements.
- Maintain and improve cycle counting processes, ensuring counts are completed to schedule, recorded accurately, and investigated where variances arise.
- Control the flow of stock from manufacturing and supplier deliveries, ensuring correct labelling, put-away, and system booking.
- Apply and uphold stock control procedures, identifying and addressing process or system issues that impact stock accuracy.
- Liaise closely with manufacturing to ensure finished goods are booked correctly and stored in line with agreed standards.
- Work with depot teams to support alignment on stock controls, returns handling, and discrepancy investigations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing stock errors, improving space utilisation, and strengthening operational discipline.
- Experience in stock control, inventory management or warehouse operations.
- Working knowledge of Epicor or a similar ERP system.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System.
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work across multiple operational teams.
- Confident investigating stock variances and resolving discrepancies.
