We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager in the Ayrshire area.
The Quality Manager will work closely with operations group to assure compliance with company and customer standards.
His or her main responsibilities will include:
- Manages all activities related to the ISO Certification.
- Responsible for internal and external quality, customer complaints, and all customer communication related to quality issues. Leads execution of business and specific site quality goals.
- Promotes a proactive Built in Quality (BIQ) approach to quality and partners with internal stakeholders to achieve the site’s performance goals.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to modify and continuously improve processes to enhance quality, and stability of processes.
- Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met during production.
- Responsible to ensure testing of processes and products are conducted per documented standards and customer requirements.
- Maintains and improves traceability of materials used in process and provides documentation/certification.
- Works closely with production personnel to provide guidance and instruction on proper inspection and reporting procedures.
- Confers with customers on changes in quality standards and communicates requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with suppliers on problems or necessary corrective actions required.
- Investigates deviations from standards and completes necessary analysis.
- Confers with and works closely with internal stakeholders on reasons or causes to eliminate future problems.
- Reports and monitors Quality performance metrics both external and internal
- Conducts and coordinates analysis to determine failure root cause, and ensure necessary actions are taken to improve quality performance metrics.
The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible in outlook and be able to communicate at all levels within the organisation. A team player, with good organisational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills to handle technical customer issues, as well as to develop and execute communication plans related to quality improvement initiatives.
Ideally educated to HNC standard, or equivalent, in Quality Assurance with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment within a Production or Quality role. Desirable to have experience in problem solving techniques using formal methodologies such as PDCA and 8D.
PC literacy is also essential.
