- MIG / TIG Fabricator required in Runcorn - £14.00 per hour.
Our client is looking for an experienced Sheet Metal TIG/MIG fabricator to work at their Precision Engineering / Fabrication / Mechanical Assembly workshop in Astmoor, Runcorn.
This position is full-time, fabricating light-weight, precise jigs, fixtures and also small/medium-sized fabrications for the Automotive Industry. The work is mostly MIG and TIG welding at their workshop, but you must also be prepared to visit our client’s customers’ sites across the UK.
Our client manufacture bespoke tooling jigs/fixtures, special-purpose machinery and lifting equipment. The products are designed and manufactured in-house and are mostly made from precision engineered and fabricated parts. They are assembled, tested and commissioned at their Runcorn facility and then taken to customers’ sites to be installed.

As an experienced sheet metal fabricator should have the following:
- City and Guilds qualification in sheet metal and plate fabrication with 10-years’ experience in the trade.
- The ability to read engineers drawings and, where required, produce hand sketches for a new fabricated assembly from customer/site instructions
- You must be able to fabricate to high tolerances, understand the nature of the material and it is essential that you provide your own tools for this work.
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working within the automotive industry would be beneficial.
For the interview, our client would like to see:
- Pictures your tools / toolbox
- Pictures of recent work
- Boots, overalls and welding mask may also be required for a practical assessment
The job operates on Monday to Friday; working 8am until 4.30pm.
This is atemporary to permanent position.
The rate of pay is £14.00 per hour.
